What Does a Notary Public Do?

Notary services in Tulsa, Oklahoma start at $20 in-office and $25+ for mobile or remote online notarization (RON). Oklahoma law (49 O.S. § 5) caps the per-act notary fee at $5; our service price covers travel, scheduling, technology platform (for RON), and on-call availability. We offer walk-in, mobile (we travel to you), and RON. Available 24/7 including weekends and holidays. Call (539) 367-6832.

A notary public is a state-commissioned official authorized under Oklahoma law (49 O.S. § 111 et seq.) to witness signatures, administer oaths, and verify the identity of document signers. Notarization deters fraud by confirming that the person signing a document is who they claim to be and is signing willingly.

According to Oklahoma statute 49 O.S. § 1, notaries are appointed by the Secretary of State for a 4-year commission. Per 49 O.S. § 2, they must carry a $10,000 surety bond. Under 49 O.S. § 5 and § 209, fees are limited to $5 per notarial act for traditional notarizations or $25 for remote online notarization (RON).

RON — Anywhere

Signers can join from anywhere in the United States and from other countries wherever remote notarization is permitted for your document type. Your Oklahoma-commissioned notary performs each RON session while physically present in Oklahoma.

  • • Any U.S. state or territory (where your document and platform rules allow)
  • • Any country internationally (same caveats)
  • • Military bases overseas, ships, and other remote locations when ID/KBA can be completed

Transparent, State-Compliant Pricing

Oklahoma law caps the notarial act fee itself. Total appointment pricing can also include separate, disclosed service fees (travel, after-hours dispatch, document handling, and RON platform/compliance costs when applicable).

Service TypeState MaximumOur Pricing
In-Office Notary$5.00 per actStarting at $20
Mobile Notary$5.00 per act + travelStarting at $25/act
Remote Online (RON)$25.00 per actStarting at $25/act
Absentee Ballot AffidavitsFREE (required by law)FREE

What's a "notarial act"? Each signature that requires notarization counts as one act. A document with 3 signatures = 3 notarial acts. Volume discounts are available for law firms, title companies, and businesses with recurring needs.

Why can total pricing be higher than the state per-act cap? The statutory cap applies to the notarization act. Separate service fees are legal when disclosed in advance, such as mobile travel time/mileage, urgent or after-hours scheduling, witness coordination, scan-backs, and secure RON platform verification/recording costs.

Quick Notary FAQs

What do I need to bring for notarization?

A valid, government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID). The document must be unsigned — you'll sign in front of the notary. We cannot notarize documents you've already signed.

Can you notarize a document I already signed?

No. Oklahoma law requires you to sign in the notary's presence. If you've already signed, you'll need to sign again on a new copy. This is a state law requirement, not our policy.

How long does notarization take?

In-office: Typically 15-30 minutes. Mobile: Depends on travel time, usually 20-45 minutes on-site. RON: 30-60 minutes from upload to completion.

Do you offer same-day service?

Yes! We offer same-day notary services for all three service types. Call (539) 367-6832 early for best availability. After-hours and weekend appointments also available.

Can a notary come to my house?

Yes! That's our mobile notary service. We come to your home, office, hospital, nursing home, jail, or any location in Oklahoma. Travel fees apply based on distance.

What if I don't have ID?

You can bring a credible witness who has valid ID and is personally known to the notary. Alternatively, get a state ID from Oklahoma DPS. We cannot notarize without proper ID verification.
